Family dysfunction = Freud would have loved this

Christmas Survival

This movie is exhausting. Because what we need is another dysfunctional family Christmas movie. This movie centers around a family that convenes at their parents (now deceased) house, that is in a state of repair because it is an old English home in the country side. Think The Money Pit. #flashback

The family members of course don’t have great communication skills, there is alcoholism, a sister who makes it all about her, another sister who sleeps with aforementioned sisters husband, husband taking Viagra and dropping a pill on the floor, at which point great aunt’s dog takes pill, starts humping everything. Great aunt gets mad at dog, gives him a bath, because that can solve what’s happening there. Other things happened, but it was so boring its not worth retelling. The end consisted of several of the families trading teenagers/young adults and everyone hugging it out.

D- only saved from an F because of the accents

Christmas movies so white scale 9.5

Predictability scale 9

PS point of clarification, there is a moment in this movie when two women in their 50's are talking abut how life is so much easier being single, a typical "Who needs men?" moment. One of them then references "What about women?" This is how you can tell this movie was written by someone straight. Gay people don't decide to "try" out same sex partnerships because they can't find anyone heterosexual. it doesn't work that way. And it's harmful. Stop it writers.
