Snowed Inn Christmas

This movie follows Jenna and Kevin. Jenna is a type A, rigid, controlling, hair up all the time gal. She just broke up with her bf. Kevin is the opposite and afraid of commitment. He is mourning the loss of his Dad and avoiding going home for Christmas. They both work as writers for an online company that is losing readers. They are sent to Aspen for a work, and are competing for their jobs. Literally are told that whichever piece the readers like more, that person will keep They are stuck next to each other on the plane. They hit a storm and become stranded in Santa Claus, Indiana. Plot twist, Santa & Mrs Claus find them at the airport and tell them they can stay at their inn that puts my Christmas decorations to shame. They go to the inn and are told that the inn is going to close after the holidays because St Nick founded it and they don’t have the historical documents to prove this, therefore the town is shutting them down. Calamity!

Their boss gets word and tells them to stay there and write a story about the town.

Jenna & Kevin stay, have cookie making adventures late at night and actually discover that they like each other. She lets her hair down. Are you bored yet?

He takes her to see his family, he falls for her. They get in a spat about something ridiculous.

We then see a lot of shots of each of them typing. They are both writing furiously, except neither of them has writers groups like I have on fb with my colleagues where I post things like “What in the h e double hockey sticks am I going to preach about?” Point being, if they actually talked to each other about what they are writing, they could help each other. But like almost all holiday movies, each of them sucks at asking for help, and at basic communication skills.

Good thing we have a Christmas Eve festival to attend. They get all fancy thanks to clothes from Mr & Mrs Claus, but CALAMITY! Her ex shows up. She leaves with him. Kevin is heartbroken. Then he reaches in the coat pocket and finds the historical document! Christmas is saved! The inn is saved! He publishes an article from both of them. In the article he says he fell in love. She reads it at the airport with her ex, guess what she isn’t getting on that plane. He goes ot his family on Christmas Day, she shows up at the door. They admit their love. Then she says

“There’s a blizzard coming New Years Eve, want to get snowed in with me?”

I threw up a little in my mouth when I heard that terrible line. The end.

C+
